Jason Cheny:

I was born in Taiwan and partially raised in Canada and America. I attended 10 different schools and one of them happened to be a military school. I was 14 years old and i came to love it. Oddly enough, I felt more comfortable at the school than anywhere else, it was far less hostile and far more welcoming than being at home. But, I was never good at being a student, nor a human kid. I was always afraid of doing the wrong thing and I was never really sure how to carry myself. I couldn’t even really relate to others. But there were always these moments in the day where I could say just the right thing to make everyone laugh whether it was to the classroom or to my teacher. Hearing everyone laugh as I got escorted out of class was nice. Those moments brought color to my black and white world.

You’ll find me talking about my family, society, the news, grocery stores, the color of grass and how I grew up. I want people to know who I am after they see me working my craft. My work comes from all the events that made me who I am today, and why I see the world the way it is because of it. As a Taiwanese-American-Canadian-Supermodel, I can see how beautifully Asian cultures can unite and collaborate with each other, but seeing the times they don’t brings a tear to my eye. I do my work to show how much laughter and color can be found within different cultures. I’ll show you the humor in this melting pot of differing cultures and what I see when I stir it.

I’m a little goofy, really frustrated, but completely funny. My comedy is who I am.
